The bulging of the Qisheng battery is mainly caused by an increase in internal pressure stimulation, which is mainly due to the following reasons:
(1) The opening pressure of the safety valve is too high, or the safety valve is blocked. When the internal pressure increases to a certain extent, the valve cannot open normally, which will inevitably cause bulging and deformation.
(2) The float charging voltage is set too high and the charging current is high, which accelerates the precipitation of O2 on the positive electrode plate without enough time to recombine at the negative electrode. At the same time, the temperature inside the battery rises quickly, and when the exhaust is not enough and the pressure reaches a certain level, it causes the Qisheng battery to bulge and deform.
(3) During the charging operation of Qisheng batteries, especially in series connected battery packs, if the battery pack is overcharged, poor quality batteries often exhibit internal gas recombination and other phenomena, resulting in bulging.
(4) Due to the lean liquid design of the Qisheng battery, there is a reserved pathway for the combination of gases, and if there is; Rich Liquid "; The phenomenon will block the diffusion of generated O2 to the negative electrode, reduce the recombination rate of O2, and increase the internal pressure.
In general, Qisheng batteries do not require maintenance, but they need to be regularly inspected, which mainly includes five aspects.
1. Check the electrolyte
During use, there is still some loss of electrolyte in maintenance free batteries, and the liquid level will continuously decrease with the increase of use time. When the electrolyte drops to a certain extent, the battery should be replaced or the electrolyte should be replenished in a timely manner to avoid uneven capacity reduction and overcharging and overdischarging of individual Qisheng batteries. Overcharging is more likely to cause electrolyte loss, and overdischarging will exacerbate the sulfurization phenomenon of the battery, which are all triggering factors for battery safety accidents.
In practical applications, many batteries are equipped with battery observation windows. Under normal circumstances, the color of the observation window is green. When the color of the observation window is dark green or black, it should be charged in a timely manner. When the color of the observation window is yellow or red, the battery should be replaced in a timely manner.
2. Check the connection of the wires
When the Qisheng battery is in operation, the wire joints should be firmly connected to avoid electric sparks caused by poor connection. In daily maintenance, the battery connection piles should be regularly checked to ensure that the wire connections are firm and free of dirt. In addition, during regular maintenance, the quality and connection condition of the charger should be checked to avoid sparks from the charger and its connections.
3. Check the battery voltage
After a certain period of time (preferably no more than 6 months), the voltage of the Qisheng battery should be tested. During the test, the charging equipment should be disconnected and the battery should be operated with a load for 30 minutes. Then, the voltage of a single battery should be measured. If the voltage of a single battery is significantly lower than that of other batteries, it indicates that the battery is under charged and should be recharged. If the voltage of a single battery is significantly higher than that of other batteries, it indicates that the battery is in a state of dehydration or has a tendency to lose water. Sufficient attention should be paid. If the voltage of a single battery with a nominal 12V rating is lower than 10.5V, it indicates that the battery is damaged and should be replaced.
4. Check the float charging voltage
In order to ensure that the Qisheng battery is always fully charged and overcome the self discharge phenomenon of the battery itself, the batteries in the project are usually in a floating charging state. At this time, the output voltage of the charger is stable at a fixed value. If this value is too high, it indicates that the charger has a high possibility of overcharging the battery. The floating charging voltage of a single battery is generally controlled at 2.25V, the 12V battery is controlled at 13.5V, and so on. When the voltage of a 12V double entry battery is kept at ≥ 14.4V for a long time, it will produce a lot of flammable gas, indicating that it has preliminary conditions for explosion and should be taken seriously
